Welcome to Gala Investments Limited, whose history unfolds against the vibrant backdrop of Nigeria's Kano city.
At the heart of this
narrative stood visionary brothers, Mr. George Assad Akle (GAA) and Mr. Lucien
Assad Akle (LAA), who established a legacy of entire entrepreneurship and
shared dreams.
GAA, a true pioneer who was born in Nigeria, saw the potential in integration, economies of scale, and business opportunities. Together with his technically dynamic brother LAA, they envisioned a network of companies united under a common ownership structurethat could reflect both family values and entrepreneurial spirit.
In 1988,Akle Investments Ltd was established to provide structure and strategic direction to diverse businesses. By the early 1990's Akle Investments Ltd was renamed Gala Investments Ltd.
Gala Investments Limited and different projects came together to form a single, well-functioning corporate entity. This holding company was given the responsibility of nurturing projects from their inception to their full realization.

Domino Packaging Ltd stands as a trailblazer in the dynamic world of flexible packaging. Founded on June 27, 1985, based in the vibrant city of Kano, Nigeria, our philosophy revolves around commitment to steadfast quality and innovative packaging solutions. At Domino, we pride ourselves on our ability to cater for diverse client needs. specialising in crafting flexible packaging solutions that span a wide spectrum including reverse printed films for extrusion lamination and woven sacks tailored for products such as rice, maize flour, seeds, semovita, semolina, and more. Additionally, we excel in producing solvent-based and solvent-less laminated materials, ensuring versatility and excellence in every packaging endeavor.
Nigerian Spinners & Dyers Ltd. - RC6313
In line with Nigeria’s post-independence Industrialization Drive NIGERIAN SPINNERS AND DYERS LIMITED “NSD” was set up in Kano as a fully integrated Worsted Spinning Mill in 1969; the first fully integrated mill of its type in Sub Saharan Africa. Today it forms the core of the Textile Division within the Group and is also a Subsidiary of Gala Investments Limited.

Mr.Assad Jebran Akle commenced business as a produce buyer, importer and GeneralMerchant traders in consumables. Continued and steady progress was achieved until 1957 when his businesses were translated into a limited liability company, AKLE BROTHERS LIMITED “ABL” which is a wholly owned Subsidiary of Gala Investments Limited.

In order to legally create a coordinated company structure under specialized and skilled management using apex structuring principles :a holding company GALA INVESTMENTS LIMITED (formerly Akle Investments Limited) was incorporated in 1988 as an Investment holding company with an income base consisting of Franked ( Dividend) Investment Income and rental from assets leased to subsidiary companies. Its task is to nurture projects and realise and manage subsidiary companies that are successful ventures
C.ZARD & Company Ltd.
In order to directly access Southern markets; it was deemed necessary that an established physical presence be secured in Lagos and Ibadan. In 1991 the then Chairman, Mr. G. A. Akle bought a controlling stake in C. ZARD AND COMPANY LIMITED “CZ” an old and established trading house with offices in Lagos and Ibadan. C.Zard & company Ltd has been trading since the 1930s when company registration began in Nigeria
*1930s: The Genesis*
Mr. Assad Jebran Akle initiated the family's entrepreneurial journey as a produce buyer, importer, and consumables trader.
*1957: Transformative Transition*
The businesses evolved into a limited liability company, AKLE BROTHERS LIMITED (ABL), marking a significant milestone and becoming a wholly-owned subsidiary of Gala Investments Limited.
*1969: Spinning Innovation*
Aligned with the post-independence Industrialization Drive, NIGERIAN SPINNERS AND DYERS LIMITED (NSD) was established in Kano as the first fully integrated Worsted Spinning Mill in Sub-Saharan Africa. Today, NSD constitutes the core of the Textile Division within the Group and is a proud subsidiary of Gala Investments Limited.
*1985: Printing & packaging*
Responding to the need for downstream horizontal integration, DOMINO PACKAGING LIMITED (DPL) westablished as a flexible packaging industry and catered to the requirements of sister company Nigerian Spinners and Dyers Limited and other industries DPL began polypropylene film production and conversion, solidifying its role in the division and another wholly-owned subsidiary of Gala Investments Limited.
*1991: Market Expansion in the South *
Under our Chairman Mr. G. A. Akle Gala Investment Ltd bought a majority share in C. ZARD AND COMPANY LIMITED (CZ), a reputable trading company with offices in Lagos and Ibadan, in order to access markets in the south. CZ subsequently became a subsidiary of Gala Investments Limited and the flagship of the Group in the AgroChemical & AgroAllied sector until the mid 2010s during which time it was a formally member of the Agrochemicad association of Nigeria .
